A Brief History
1986, the beaches of Texas. The first beach ultimate tournament took place here. Three years later, in 1989, the legendary Paganello kicked off in Rimini, Italy: the first international beach tournament, which still draws thousands of players from around the world.
By 2009, beach ultimate had spread to more than 25 countries with over 100 tournaments. In 2010, WFDF (World Flying Disc Federation) officially recognised it as its own discipline owing to its unique characteristics: a 75×25 m field, five players per side, and a soft sand surface.
At the World Championship, WFDF WBUC 2025 there were: 10 divisions · 136 teams · 2,200+ players.
Local pride
The Czech national team finished 3rd at WBUC 2025 in the Mixed division. A year earlier, Prague's FUJ claimed silver at the European Club Championships.
